Hopefully, this is the last time I will ever have to touch this book! This is the last panel for my new sequence. I got back from vacation yesterday and this was all I could think about. There are actually two more panels that come after it, but I knew this one was going to be the most fun, so I did it last. Again, my line economy is much richer and expressive than when I started on this project. It just goes to show that we learn by doing, and if you never do it, you’ll never get anywhere you want to go.
The above statement is basically what Larry Young has been saying for years, and in fewer words (“If you want to do comics, then do comics!”). For some reason, when I read that, I knew that he was right. It is that simple. Just do comics. I did, and it has taken me pretty far without even having a book out yet!
