I finished writing my Lorenzo story tonight! Now all I need is a name… anyone out there with a good title should get a prize of some sort, perhaps a sketch of the protagonist himself!
So, in order for you, loyal readers, to make an informed contribution to this informal title contest, here is the plot:
Lorenzo Quick is a mouse who can really shake ‘em down when it comes to dancing. When Jonny B can’t get Sandra to go to the Spring Fling with him, Lorenzo inadvertantly causes a conflict between himself and Jonny over which of them will be Sandra’s dance partner for the evening of the Fling. It can only be solved by a dance-off! Will Lorenzo’s skills prove to be adequate for the task of winning the crowd and Sandra’s heart, or will it be more than he asked for?
That’s all you get, so give me yer best ideas! I’ll pick the best one on Friday.
Let’s go back to the “reading directions” part of the post…

So, no.
However! Were you to submit something I wanted and liked, I could sketch Lorenzo as your Incan Blood God of Death or whatever it was.
How ‘bout “Quick Fling”?
Anyway, how’s it going? Awhile back you posted an entry about friends that don’t do keep in touch, but feel like they do because they read your blog everyday…and I must admit that would be me. Give me a ring we need to hang out and catch up. You too Timmy!
Togged to the bricks is Jazz slang (1940s) for a well dressed person.
I’m using that sometime in the future; that is a great saying! I may just have to send you a sketch for that! My knowledge of jazz culture is small.
Here is a critical thing I left out which may help everyone: the story takes place around 1959-1962 roughly, and musically, it would be soul/r&b related.
Okay, have at it some more!
How ‘bout Jonny B. Bad?
Ok here is my serious entry.
“Mouse Tails – Dance for a Chance”
Call your series “Mouse Tails”. It is innocuous enough to spin off into other adventures, not just based on your first set of characters or a single central character. Call the episode “Dance for a Chance”… He’s dancing for a chance to steal the heart of Sandra.
The Boy Can Dance
Here are some of my Ideas-
some obscure dance terms
Lorenzo Hop (playing off of the dance the Lindy Hop)
Rhythm Buck Mouse
Terpischore Choice
Terpischore Fling
Lorenzo Cuts In
Lorenzo’s Fandango
Lorenzo’s Serve (bad southpark reference)
that’s all I gots for now
Ann Towey
13 years of dance training gave me a useless vocabulary, until today!!
My two cents is that my favorite so far is ‘Lorenzo Cuts In.’
Other suggestions:
Mouse Tap
Lorenzo Gets His Groove On (maybe too sexual)
Lorenzo Shakes His Tail
Lorenzo Puts On His Dancin’ Shoes
Lorenzo Gets Down
Get Down Lorenzo!
The Mouse Who Brings Down The House
Lorenzo Mouse In: You Make Me Feel Like Dancin’
Lorenzo’s Badasss Dance (maybe not)
Lorenzo’s Jive
Lorenzo’s Shimmy
Lorenzo Foots It
Lorenzo’s Hustle (sounds like an Al Pacino Movie)
Lorenzo Cuts Loose
...and that’s all I got.
how about
The Mercurial Mouse

Maybe a plot twist…
“When Lorenzo first obtained the Shakaatana artifact he thought it was just another statue in his collection of pre-Columbian cannibal artifacts. But one night when local cat was chasing him again, he touched the golden idol in anger… In seconds the transformation was complete and he possessed the soul of Shubaza, death priest, and King of the High Inca Mouse Overlords. Unknown to everyone the dance that night would not only be an attempt to steal Sandra’s heart, but also a ritual dance of death where Lorenzo would actually hold Jonny’s still beating heart in his hands…”
Just a thought – T
