On Twitter, several cartoonists decided to get together and recreate our favorite movies as movie posters in our own style under the hashtag, #CinematicShowdown. I felt like working with Miller’s Crossing, one of my all-time favorites. You can see the rest of the entries on Twitter by searching #CinematicShowdown or at this blog which is collecting the entries.

AMC, in preparation of their new The Prisoner mini-series, has posted the original 1967 series on their site. You can stream all 17 episodes of The Prisoner for free. If you have never seen it, it’s, well, I can’t really describe it. The opening credits are kick ass. The clothes and general aesthetic are late 60s psychedelic, filtered through a British lens. And there is a giant ball that scared the crap out of me as a kid that comes and takes you away if you try to escape. It really has everything you need in a TV show. Plus, Patrick McGoohan scowls like he has never scowled before.

I’m not a number!
