    I'm Still Here

I ran into an old friend recently who asked “where have you been?! You don’t update your website anymore! And don’t get me started on Facebook!”

I’ve been busy creating comics; that’s it. If you want to see where most of my energy is going, look no further than Drunk Elephant Comics. This is what I’ve always wanted to do, and instead of talking about it here ad nauseum, I thought I’d start creating something.

Part of it is age also. Over the last 4 years (when I was regularly posting here), I’ve become more private (hence the lack of Facebook activity, also). I’m still very active on Twitter, however. I’ve been thinking about doing more of that sort of posting here — sharing links and quick one-offs.

Anyway – to the people that still look for my posts here, I’m still around and I’m okay. Promise. As long as Drunk Elephant Comics is still going, then so am I.

    New Site: DrunkElephantComics.com

I’m pleased to announce that I have (finally) built an online home for Drunk Elephant Comics at DrunkElephantComics.com. Every comic published to date is there, including the ability to comment without signing in (you still need an e-mail address). The site also has a drink recipe library and a blog, where I’ll mostly post information and stories about, well, booze, let’s be honest. I have this blog here for most everything else.

The Webcomics Nation site is not disappearing. I will continue to update my strips there as well, using my space there as a mirror and an emergency backup. I’ll talk more about this and my overall plan for how I launched the strip out in the first place later in the week. For now though, click around the new site, send me errors or problems, and enjoy this particularly scummy picture of myself.

Note: If you receive updates for Drunk Elephant via RSS, e-mail, Twitter or Facebook, you don’t have to do a thing. These services have already been changed/redirected for you.

    Blogging/Micro-Blogging & Me

I’ve felt recently that I have turned into a blogging failure compared to my past years of multiple updates a week, these past posts usually being longer essay-type posts. Part of the drop-off is the feeling that I don’t have any time for blogging anymore. But then I realized how into Twitter I’ve become. I’m a Tweet machine, sharing links and multiple posts there a day. And then I remembered how much more I’m getting into Facebook…

This seems to be a shared consensus online with older bloggers; that social media networks are slowly taking over their time and attention. It’s an interesting shift.

I’m working on a redesign of this site to try and take advantage of the social networking I am involved in, and to let myself post smaller, one-off posts instead of the longer ones I was used to doing. I’ll still have more thought out posts, but I’d like to incorporate all the crap I stumble across and share with people on other networks. It seems silly not to post it here too.

In the meantime, if you’re on Twitter, you can follow my quick thoughts there
