More Lorenzo sketching during the weekend. I felt inspired after reading through McSweeney’s No. 13 yesterday. I found some answers to what was ailing me within.
Spiffy!
Thanks!
It will not be noir-based; I’m already working on another project with a writer that is noir-ish. It will be more of a pop-bubblegum fable.
And it will debut here when I get the chance! Parlor was where I wanted to go to relax and experiment, and Lorenzo’s story will be available here, either as a PDF or syndicated on the site. Maybe both. It is planned as a small contained story, however, nothing ongoing unless it proves to be amazingly popular.
Thanks for the compliments, Nick!
T-shirts would be good, although I believe that I need to actually have a comic out first. This is hard, because most cartoonists seem to start thinking about the merch almost as soon as they get an idea for a story. What you end up with is merch for a story they never get around to doing. I’m really happy about that sketch, though; it would make a kick-ass shirt like you describe, Nick.
It shouldn’t be too long of a wait, however. Lorenzo’s story should be in the range of 32 pages. Once I get all my Golden Boy stuff out of the way, I think I’ll take a couple weekends and have fun with my mouse.
Oh yeah, the story in its final form will also be free to download under a Creative Commons license. I’ve been wanting to experiment with that. One of the problems of comics as a creator is getting the work out to people quickly. I’m not a strip person; I just don’t have the mindset like some of the other web comic greats. I thought doing little one-shots would be fun to try!

Spiffy!
I’m really interesting in seeing what this will be all about. That is, the official unvieling!
Now I believe you mentioned this will be noir-based, right?
