Doing Some Lettering Work

I’m filling-in an issue of The Lexian Chronicles for Markosia this week. It should be out next month. Lettering is so zen for me. I copy the text over from the script, make the word balloons, and give the captions colors if they belong to a different character. Making word balloons is probably the most relaxing. I try to make the perfect balloon and tail every time.

I’m hoping to get some more lettering work in the future. It reminds me of setting type – you nitpick little details to ensure the reader has the easiest time digesting the story. I like being in service to the reader. Probably why I like web design so much too.
