Finding Trondheim
So in my first two reads from Chicago this weekend, American Elf and Carnet de Voyage, both mention run-ins with Lewis Trondheim, and I couldn’t figure out why the name sounded so familiar. It finally dawned on me that ten years ago, I picked up his book Mildiou in France when I was over there. It was the coolest French comic I picked up and made quite an impression on my 17-year-old-X-Men-consumer mind! I have it somewhere around here or at my folks; I got to find it now! This guy is a genius, and he has some English translations over at Fantagraphics for sale (including a biography).
I poured over that book for the entire trip, then I must have packed it away and forgot about it. If only...
