Friday Night Sketches

My techno-hipster... he's got his iPod and iBook in tow.

I tried to take my mind of the pain last Friday night and actually ended up doing some neat sketches. While the rest of my friends played board games, I sat miserable on the couch with the dog and sketched. I decided to try to keep stripping my figures down some more. My techno-hipster cat was a warm-up, then I busted out the brush pen and went to town. I like his shoes the best, I think. Then came the Grr Girl; I’m not sure why I made her furiously cute. Finally came Hellblazer, or Constantine, or whatever the heck they are calling it. The HBO First Look show was on featuring ol’ Keanu, so I just kept on sketching.

I’ve never read any Hellblazer, but I do kind of wish that they let the Constantine character stay blond and British. I always thought it was a neat juxtaposition: a blond guy in a light jacket against the forces of darkness, and well, he’s pretty dark himself.

I am fairly convinced what you have is the plague. Black death and such. Move yourself out to the curb and prepare yourself for proper disposal when the end comes.
