It’s Friday, which means it is time to have more fun with Ghost Rider:

Hee hee! Brother, you’re head is on fire. Snakes ought to be the least of your worries. The Chief doesn’t understand why I laugh hysterically at this panel every time I see it. And I’m always like, “snakes… attacking me!”

On a more serious note, I love these background elements! This is another reason why I love the Essential volumes. With all the color stripped out of the art, I focus more on the actual composition of the panels. I have thought that something like these “shock lines” would have been handy while doing Quick Step. I really like how they allow white space to move and flow between the groupings of heavy ink while still simulating actual shock or another emotional reaction. These need to go in my “tool box” for the future.
More often, I find myself agreeing with what Will Eisner said in the Eisner/Miller book, that color is basically marketing. There is something that really hits me in the heart with good black and white comics. Pick up Locas when you are in a bookstore sometime and you might get the same tingly feeling I get while flipping through its gorgeous black and white interiors.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
SNAKES ON A PLANE!!
This make anyone else think or Richard Pryor?
Freebasing…
Catching himself on fire…
Probably hallucinating about snakes…
Anyone?

Snakes! Attacking ME!
God damn that’s funny. But look at those snakes! They ain’t your garden variety snakes! They look like soem sort of hideous dragon snake … thingies.
ROFL You know, after dealing with Satan and hordes of demons, you would think snakes are hardly worth the effort.
