Last night, I had some tacos for dinner. Since I was feeling pretty decent for the first time in weeks, I decided to wash those tacos down with a Miller Lite.
It was quite possibly the best beer I had tasted in several years.
Again, it was a Miller Lite. Not the best beer in the world, though certainly not horse piss, either. I’m sure my satisfaction was derived from not having had any alcoholic beverages for several weeks, but damn, it was so enjoyable.
So for Friday, I ask you all, when was the last time you had a great beer? One that made you purse your lips, squint your eyes and exclaim to all around you “Mmm! That’s good!” Most importantly, what was it?
Well, I don’t drink…but Jones Soda has some of the best flavors of soda…and definitely the coolest labels in the world.
Fredd, you probably know how I feel about beer snobs, but what do you usually drink? I’m pretty sure it’s Guinness (a fine favorite of mine also), but remind me for confirmation.
Kenneth, Jones Soda is awesome, no bones about it. I love swilling that stuff; it reminds me of what pop used to taste like when I was a kid. My wife and I almost always buy a couple bottles when we’re at the grocery store. I like M.F. Grape, which I think stands for M.other F.uckin’ Grape.
I am a Guiness man. I do not like most American beers, and yes, i was poking at you about your “beer snob” remarks.
Just givin’ ya crap!
Drink what you like!
So strange… I remember the beer – it was an Amber Bock at Chilli’s, the glass was icy.. it was my wife’s birthday (last January).
I can’t recall for the life of me what the circumstance leading up to it was that made it have that wonderful, refreshing, “It tastes like I haven’t had a beer in years, even though I know I have” taste you describe.. but damn, I remember the beer.
Maybe the eleventeen beers that followed have something to do with the foggy recollection.
p.s. the other Golden Boy hits the canvas for good a minute into the 8th tomorrow night
As far a great “beer” experiences go…. I will have to say that hands down, the pint of Guinness that I got to pour at The Gravity Bar, 8th floor Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Ireland was lead pipe lock greatest vessel of booze I will ever imbibe.
