It's Raining Men

Over the weekend, I got a little dizzy off of homemade sangria, or was it from watching a man dressed as Cher celebrating his 40th birthday by singing Cher’s hits and traveling amongst the rather large crowd of friends on top of two well-built shirtless men’s shoulders?

Other highlights from this birthday bash:

• Men with lisps debating politics. You have no idea how refreshing that is after listening to men with lame credentials and obvious homophobia badger at each other on cable “news” television.
• Watching the World Series from across the room while the bass thump from the club mix beat hits my heart a bit, making the whole thing more exciting and enjoyable than it really is.
• Talking with an old Marine about our high schools (we both went to North) and great old bars in Benson.
• Kicking myself for not bringing a camera.
• Having one of the well-built shirtless men exclaim over and over how perfect, fab, glam and hot my wife is. Goddamn right.

The rest of the weekend was, to say the least, less impressive. There was some lawn mowing. That’s about it.
