Our friend Nick asked us to help him with his one of his final semester projects at Parsons by having us draw a map of a city that we were close to, and that we had to have three locations that were significant to our time there.
I was alone this morning with Quincy, so while he snoozed on my lap, I grabbed my sketchbook and started to draw. When I finished, instead of scanning it in right away to “ink” in Illustrator, I decided to hand-ink it with a Sharpie, tech pens, and brush. That was a blast. It took me right back to high school, where I would ink my cartoons with the other cartoonists (usually Christian or Cal, sometimes with Ryan and Tristan, even Nick later on) on the newspaper staff in the Journalism Department, or at one of our houses. All of us rushing to meet a deadline, inking as fast as we could safely go.
I miss that.
Anyway, I hadn’t shared any art lately, so thar ye be. Avast!
