Terry Gross interviewed actor Michael K. Williams on Fresh Air today about his role on The Wire. Williams plays Omar, a stick-up man who is the most feared character on the show, because he has no fear. Omar is also homosexual, which is one of the many wonderful layers to this character that make him a fan favorite. The character of Omar was only supposed to last 7 episodes and Williams quickly turned the role into one of the most memorable on a show of great performances.
This last week’s episode saw the set-up for Omar’s return to the series, guns blazing. I can’t wait.
