On Writing Tools

How the thread started unraveling the sweater known as my mind is not precise. A bug was released on my ass about being able to type up a comic script at any time in any place with all related issues, character profiles and story outlines instantly accessible in a database of sorts. Sounds nice, yes?

Possible solutions included:

• Writing in my Palm Zire than using an AppleScript to strip out the Memos from a tab-delimited file into a Word document.
• Creating a Mozilla application that ran from the browser and connected to a server where all the issues would be stored as text files.
• Using a private blog, which seemed like the easiest.

Extreme technoporn the private-blog-as-writing-app may be, I decided that this was a truly awe-inspiring solution to writing whenever and wherever I wanted to, and would make for suitable snooty conversations with other writer-types (Let me just log into my private blog just for writing. Sure I can show you!).

After a lengthy amount of time installing multiple tools for evaluation, I realized if all I wanted to do was write, a simple business notepad and ballpoint pen would do fine.

My new tools work well.
