We received 13 inches of snow yesterday, and then a blast of dangerous temperatures this morning, around -20 degrees. I got ready for work, stepped out and started trudging towards my car. All the other parking spots were snowdrifted yesterday, so I had to park pretty far away, on the other side of the building. I got stuck in a snowdrift last night when I parked, triumphantly making it home. I figured I could rock my way loose or scrape around the tires to get out this morning.
As I approached where I parked last night, I could see the butt end of my car, the rest of it hidden in a snow bank, as if archaeologists had uncovered it on a dig. I had no shovel, and my face hurt from the wind.
I trudged back to the warmth of the apartment and called into work. I’ll dig myself out later.
