Style Breakthrough
This is my friend Ben. I’ve been experimenting with styles again, trying to get the most out of my lines (less is more). Streamlining. Minimizing. Simplifying. Whatever you would like to call it. I’m so pleased with this sketch that I may try to draw an entire graphic novel like this. I’ve had my mind on writing one for awhile that would be perfect for this style. I’ll have to dust off those notes.
Yes, Ben likes the Pixies. Who doesn’t?
I’ve actually only seen Ben this frazzled a handful of times. Not getting tickets for the new Pixies tour would do it for him, though.
Ben actually is way into jazz and is looking to become a yoga instructor. He’s much more relaxed than me. I go to him when I want to know more about jazz; he’s my mentor in that arena.
The man-bag is unfortunate… but you do have cool pointy boots, scruff (somedays) and a messenger bag.
I will be utilizing the style shortly after I do my Lorenzo story, and find out about my collaborative graphic novel situation that is currently being reviewed by a couple publishers. That may take me awhile to finish if it is greenlighted.
