I was writing last night (past 13,000 words now) when I realized that it is November, and I have yet to watch a single new episode for a new season of any television program! I’m free! Free from that terrible curse that sucks my life and time away. I feel like a born again piece of white trash who finally laid down the meth pipe.
I have been watching the Long Way Around, but it is only a mini-series, so I’m good there.
Well, I’ll also catch Futurama on Adult Swim occasionally before I hit the sack, also. But that is it! Nothing else!
Meanwhile, during the crappy writing thing (love turned to hate pretty fast once entering a second week of this relentless production), I have found reading fiction is annoying. Can’t do it, except if it is a comic book. Right now, I’m pouring through the massive Love & Rockets collection, which is keeping me entertained. It is going to take me a few weeks to get through it at this rate – 760 pages! Great stuff, though.
I wish I could do something like that.
Tivo would be great for catching all The Venture Brothers on Adult Swim since I always miss them. I’ve been thinking more seriously about a Tivo instead of replacing our VCR and just using their free basic service. We don’t consistently watch TV, but there are a few shows or programs we’d like to catch occasionally.
I’m not sure how long Futurama ran… 3 seasons at the most I think.
Same here, what shows we do watch, we are not always home to see them. Tivo takes care of this and not only that, you can specify whether it’ll record just new episodes, old episodes or both.
I’ve got it set up to record old Twilight Zone episodes, Lost, Mythbusters, a couple WB shows (omitting the crapfest series OC and The Mountain), Futurama and Family Guy. That’s pretty much it, aside from the occassional movie.
If you do decide to get the basic service, I’d appreciate if you use my gmail address as a referral. ;)

As I mentioned several weeks ago when I made my Tivo purchase, I’m not a couch potato by any means.
Rather, and no thanks to the purchase of Tivo, I can watch TV in its most crystalline form; more or less shows that I want to watch without wading though the muck of advertisements.
I’ve set Tivo to record Futurama, although at this point I think I’ve seen just about every episode. How long did that show run on the air? 3, 4 years?
