Twos

Today is my father’s birthday. Two days ago, my mother celebrated hers. My father was born two years before my mother.

They’re both born to Gemini, the twins, in the Zodiac. Weird, huh?

It gets weirder: The only way I can remember their wedding anniversary is because it shares the same date (not year, obviously) as when the first Batman movie was released. I had that date ingrained into my young psyche, just in case I might get amnesia and forget that it was coming out, missing the greatest event in my young geek life.

Now inevitably, while we are celebrating their anniversary (over dinner, for example), I will lamely (and unconsciously) slip the fact that it is also the first Batman movie anniversary into the conversation every year.

So while there are many cool things that happen in twos with my folks, there is at least one association which is not cool: their love for each other versus Batman.

Luckily, Love can beat Michael Keaton-Batman easily by just running around him quickly. He can’t move his neck in that rubber suit.
