I had to take some time off before the end of the year, so I’m off this week working on The Grinder. I have several pages complete and several others in various stages (everything would be going along quicker if Christian hadn’t lent me all his Fables books – I had never heard any of the premise before and have instantly fallen in love with it).
Anyway, for those wanting something – here is the first panel of the first page of the first issue. I’m missing the greytones on this still, but at least I got the booth done. The book takes place in Atlantic City most of the time, hence the boardwalk and funnel cake booth:

Also, we have our first cover in. Mike Avon Oeming ( Powers ) posted his contribution to The Grinder on the Bendis Board. Seeing it for the first time was really, really bizarre. Characters I’ve designed drawn by an artist I love is really a surreal moment for me.
