My collaborator and a few friends called me out on a weaksauce panel.
First Attempt:

Pretty bad, I know. At the time, I thought it was good for some reason, but I think it got away from me. Before I knew it, I thought I had accomplished what I set out to do. In reality, I wasn’t looking at the bigger picture; I needed to flesh it all out at the same time. One of the cardinal rules from college drawing class and it slipped my mind completely: don’t stay in one spot for too long, keep your hand moving or else it will look like a bunch of separate drawings instead of a whole composition.
While my collaborator patiently waited, I re-grouped. Tonight, I finally had a chance to get back to work on it.
Second Attempt:

Much better, yes? I’m glad I re-did it. I haven’t heard yet if this is the final version, but at least this gives me something to work with and tweak. I’m damn happy with this panel. Great way to spend a sub-zero night.
