Winter Vs. Funtown

The worst part about winter is that a person can’t go about regular activities, particularly fun ones. I’d had it Saturday night; freezing mist be damned, we were going to the bar, and we did. Maybe not the smartest idea, but we had fun anyway.

Yesterday, however, with 12 more inches of snow bearing down on us, I had to concede and miss out on the annual SuperBowl festivities. It is about the only thing I look forward to in January. Get together with friends, drink beer, and eat badly. I was stuck at home. My wife and I tried to make the best of it; she let me watch the game until Sex and the City came on, which was a fair compromise.

Afterwards, we both went out to clean off our cars, hoping to speed up our commute in the morning. It was quiet and peaceful as we completed our task. Eventually, we walked together around the buildings (since 18 degrees feels downright warm after -2 degrees all last week), just enjoying each other’s company for a nice snowy walk, ending what was actually a pretty fun night.
