Here are some “before” and “after” shots of our floors at the new house. The “before” shot was taken by the window seen in the “after” shot. Ben and I checked it out despite the overpowering smell of varnish/polyurethane (or whatever the hell they coat the wood with). I believe the workers are on the second coat, with two more to go for maximum protection against dogs and children.

Big “if” on the kids, so don’t take that as an announcement.

Dog, on the other hand, is pretty much guaranteed because the Chief wants one, and you can’t talk back to the Chief for too long. She don’t take no guff.

We were on a tight time schedule, but the contractors didn’t want to lose the business, so they came in at night and worked! I crawled my sick ass off the couch last Friday around 5 in the evening to meet them at the house and to drop of a set of keys for them. By Saturday afternoon, my wife stopped over with some extra TP and saw that the carpet was gone and the floors had already been refinished with it’s first coat!

We just found out the last coat went on yesterday evening, so we can actually move furniture upstairs there by tomorrow night.
