The Magician

The Magician website was created for West Omaha Films’ feature length film about the dramatic story of Marlin “The Magician” Briscoe, who in 1968 became the first professional African-American quarterback during his rookie season for the Denver Broncos. Since the film was in pre-production at the start of the project, I was tasked with telling Briscoe’s dramatic rise, fall and redemption through the site. Our team created a Flash timeline showing critical events in Briscoe’s life, and I designed the website pulling from design of the times (notably Blue Note album covers).
Briscoe’s life and upcoming film continues to receive attention from the press through the site, especially as he reached the 40th anniversary of his amazing breakthrough season as a quarterback.
