Vago
Vago - The Mariachi EP
With songs ranging in theme from marachi players to comic book super-hero sidekicks, local Omaha band Vago contacted me to put together the design and illustration for their first EP in 2004 (The Mariachi EP), and again tapped me for their 2006 album Over Moons and Heavy Arms.
All the artwork was sketched out by hand, then scanned and inked in Adobe Illustrator, where I also put a layer of base color down. From there I brought the illustrations into Adobe Photoshop to add depth and texture. The end result fit Vago well: fun and traditional with a dash of low-brow culture thrown in for good measure.
